Check out the recent US TOUR DATES announcement. Australia waits in anticipation for Wednesday's return to our shores...

16 December, 2006

Wednesday 13 and The 69 Eyes will be doing a Co-Headlining tour, click HERE to check out the tour dates!

Also, Wednesday 13 to begin filming a new video project this weekend.

The show entitled "Weirdo A-Go-Go" will feature the campy and morbid sense of humor that any fans of W13 can expect. In the first two episodes, W13 hosts clips & trailers of cheap horror flix, along with performing schlocky but witty skits with his strange & wacky sidekicks. Resurrecting the tradition of Saturday Morning TV shows that W13 grew up on; the random creations of Sid And Marty Krofft and Pee Wee's Playhouse mixed with the comedic approach of horror hosts Commander USA, Elvira, and Zacherely.

Commented Wednesday 13:

"I'm really, really excited about Weirdo A Go-Go. It's a departure from music for me, but not a departure from my sense of humor. This show is going to be a lot of fun, the ideas and scenes planned for the show are so out of control and ridiculous that I can't even believe it myself.... so be prepared to be confused"

The project, to be distributed by Horror High, LLC, will be shot by Rafa of Core Entertainment, Inc. Rafa is most noted for the video and website projects he has done for Avenged Sevenfold, Evanesence, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Static-X and the Dimebag Tribute Bracelet.

Slated for a late Spring / Early Summer 2007 release.

Wednesday 13 MySpace has just been updated with a blog entitled "The Ugly Side Of Touring"...

I wanted to let everyone know about the ugly side of touring.  When Wednesday 13 tours there is a lot that goes into it.  Wednesday has never been able to the tour the states - so he finally said FUCK IT, put a great band together and decided this year he would trek across the U.S.

Now saying this, you have to understand, Wednesday's booking agent contacts promoters and asks who wants to have W13 come and play their city.  The promoter then contacts a club and books the club for that evening.  Like every band, Wednesday 13 requests a rider that contains food, water, alcohol and requests a buy-out of $10 or a meal (usually pizza or somehting like that).  The buy-out is so when the band gets to a venue they can eat dinner.  As you can see $10 isn't a lot of money - it's enough for the guys to get some fast food or once again pizza, before playing for the evening.

Well - last night in Portland, the promoter, Jeff Hill for Wishbone Concerts tried to fuck the guys.  Over 1/4 of the ticklets were already sold in pre-orders - so the money was there.

First of the guys are in a bus - so gas ain't cheap.  W13 and the guys are limping along, because as we have mentioned - we are having some bus problems.  But W13 is doing his best not to cancel any gigs (sorry SLC, UT!).  So they limp into Portland.  When they get there, they find out that the promoter is not showing up, and has sent someone else to the venue to inform the band - They are NOT getting the rider, they are not getting any food, they are not getting ANY water and that they don't have all the money to pay them.

This is a fucked situation for the band.  Should the band say fuck you to their fans and refuse to play?

The poor guy who was sent to the club was just as annoyed as the band.  He was the messenger and had to inform the band of all this.  You have to understand, W13 is not making ANY money off the show guarantees on this tour.  All money is going to pay for the bus, bus driver, gas, crew salaries, band salaries, etc. etc.  So every dime matters.  And this guy isn't even offering the band WATER!

So guys - local bands, touring bands, clubs in Portland - do not work with Jeff Hill from Wishbone Concerts.  The guy fucks bands and doesn't have enough respect to them to advance the shows or show up to the venues.

PS - the guys played the show and had a great time.  Thank you Portland!

And Jeff if you are reading this - fuck you.

- Jon Nelson

10 August, 2006

WEDNESDAY 13 (ex-MURDERDOLLS) has issued the following statement regarding the cancellation of his August 6 concert at the Bottoms Up venue in Flushing, New York:

"Just for the record: Regardless of the rumors going around, we did not cancel the NY gig in Flushing!! The venue called or tour manager the day before and said they had a fire code situation with their sprinklers and that it could not be repaired over the weekend in time for the gig. I have received messages about the venue telling people we cancelled and that our tour bus broke down. That's bullshit and I want to apologize to anyone that went out there. In the end, it makes me look like an asshole and I'm truly sorry for it, but it's out of my control... Bottom line, we were lied to and so were you. We are on tour and all is well, we are paying all the dates scheduled… rain, sleet, snow, or alcohol poisoning, we will be there!!!"

From Wednesday 13:

"Hey guys,

I just got the first batch of confirmed dates for the upcoming "Till Death Do Us Party" US tour, which will be taking us all over the
US
this time. More dates to be announced soon so stay tuned.

In other news, I made a blog announcement a while back that Kid Kid had returned to the band. This was great news and I was really looking forward to him re-joining the band. However in the ever cruel world of life, Kid has unfortunately been put out of rock commission due to some major back problems and ordered by his doctor to sit out for 3 to 6 months. This really sucks, but as always the show must go on. This has put the bass player position back open. So again, here we go with another bass player wanted add."

Bassist wanted for Wednesday 13:

Requirements: Must be at least 21 yrs old, US resident, valid
passport, experience necessary, image important, must send a link to
your myspace page or website

Serious inquiries only, All interested parties please contact:

Wednesday 13 signs Worldwide Record Deal with Rykodisc/Restless Records

New Album, Fang Bang, Out This Summer

Wednesday 13's Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 Box Set To Be Released May 9th (U.S.A.) / May 29th (Euro Release)

Horror rock king Wednesday 13 has signed a new worldwide record deal with Rykodisc/Restless Records. Rykodisc has set a tentative summer release date for the new album Fang Bang, the follow up to 2005's Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying and the Dead. As reported earlier this month, Warner Music Group recently entered into an agreement to purchase Ryko Corporation, Rykodisc's parent company, for $67.5 million dollars.

Wednesday has also announced that he has parted ways with his 2004/2005 touring line up. W13 commented on the departure of his former band:

’Yes it's sad, but unfortunately true... I have decided to part ways
with the entire W13 line up. This decision has many sides to it, and was difficult to make. At this time I feel it is the right thing to
do. I want to say that I had some of the best times with Kid Kid,
Ghastly, and Piggy D and I can't thank them enough for all their hard work and dedication that they put into this. We have parted ways on good terms, and there are no hard feelings between us. I truly wish them all the best of luck.’

Wednesday 13 has assembled a special line up for the following shows:

A BENEFIT CONCERT FOR CANCER RESEARCH PRESENTED BY THE RENEE ISRAEL FOUNDATION

April 27, 2006

Chicago, IL - The Metro

Wednesday 13 - vocals/rhythm guitar
Eric Griffin - lead guitar (Murderdolls)
Racci Shay - drums (x-Genitoturers / Rejects (pre-Murderdolls)

This line up reunites W13 with Murderdoll band mate Eric Griffin for the first time since 2003. In addition, this line up will also play at Club Bijou on Saturday April 29th in
Toledo Ohio
.

Rykodisc / Restless Records have also announced the May 9th release of Little Box of Horrors, a limited edition box set of Wednesday 13's pre-Murderdolls band, Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13. Featuring five CDs and one DVD, the collection spans the band's history from 1996-2001 and includes all four of their original albums plus a rarities disc and a DVD containing a live concert from 1998.

The European version will be released by People Like You Records on May 29th. It will contain different artwork than the American release, will be limited to 2666 copies and will come with a Frankenstein Drag Queens key holder, poster and a 26 page booklet.
